I have to admit that I'm happy to see the other reviews about the new formula not being as good as the old one. I have had the same experience in terms of having a product I loved and now? Not only does the new formula not color the same (or as well), or is there as much volume (at shoulder-length hair I am almost in need of 2 boxes) but probably most importantly, it seems to be ruining my hair! I always had nice, healthy looking hair, but now it's looking fried all the time. My stylist mentioned something about changes in coloring products altering hair and it finally dawned on me that the change in my hair health coincided with the change in formula. I am SO disappointed! I have been using the same color (16) for years and have always gotten compliments on my hair....I'm now looking for a suitable alternative. Please bring back the older formula!!

Bring back the old product!

My mother and I have been using Clairol Natural Instincts for over 25 years. Please, please, please--whoever is in charge--please admit defeat, swallow the pride, and bring back our beloved old formula. I use 20 B, and have always loved it, but the new formula washes out quickly, and all my kids asked me what was wrong with my hair when I used the booster pack after two weeks. I used it twice and it looked ridiculous both times!!! Now I throw it away. Please don't tell me to call you for advice; I have given the new formula several tries, leaving it on for the maximum time allowed for resistant grey, and I know what works for my hair = the OLD FORMULA!!!!

Beautiful, natural color. I've been using the #22 Cinnaberry for YEARS, and can definitely attest that this new, improved product is not better than the old, for these reasons:
- Less liquid product in the application bottles, which means less coverage
- Coverage in the new product does not last as long as the old product did (6 weeks now, vs. 8+ weeks then)
- The "booster" pack of color is not an improvement, nor is it an added benefit when you consider that the original product lasted the total 8 weeks and I didn't have the hassle and inconvenience of having to apply color TWICE in one month.

To remove other factors that could cause the new product to be less effective, I have no more grey than I had when I started using Natural Instincts years ago, so it's not as if I have a more difficult grey coverage. The product simply doesn't last as long as it used to.
Bottom line: the new product is twice the bother of using it than it used to be.

I have used this for as long as they have made it. I just wish that they would leave the shades they have the same. I used a light red in the summer and the cinnaberry in the winter. Clarol used to send me coupons in the mail because I used the product so long.

Product change is horrible

I have used Natural Instincts Medium Brown for at least 6 years and have been thrilled with the results - soft, shiny, natural looking color.that covers my grey very well. I bought 2 boxes of the changed product and used one for the first time 3 weeks ago. My hair felt stiff while it was still wet and was not soft and shiny when dry. Today I used the color refresh. Within the first minute, I was horrified! It looked like I was putting thick blood on my hair. My scalp and crown hair were immediately red, A drop fell on my porcelain sink and left a red stain that would not wipe off. I almost panicked. I immediately rinsed it out, but after my hair was dry, I still have one pink spot on my scalp. You've ruined a great product! Surely people who tested it had similar results. Reminds me of the New Coke fiasco! Don't mess with success.

I used shade 12A Navajo bronze as recommended when I contacted Clairol.. It was exactly what I wanted and a beautiful shade!!!! would buy again and don't be afraid to ask them for help!!
P.S beautiful shade for BROWN HAIR I would not recommend it to blondes.
